Don’t Copy That Floppy (pt II)
I don’t remember the original at all, but in the early 90s “anti-piracy hero MC Double Def DP” warned of the dangers of game ripping with a pretty seminal line, “Don’t copy that floppy”. He’s apparently coming back for the digital age, as this trailer shows. It’s run by the SIAA, whose YouTube channel hasn’t really been deluged with traffic, bless them. If this is a truly serious campaign (I’m holding out that it might not be), then their disconnect with reality the yout any consumer is pretty phenomenal.
Over the weekend I saw an email from an artist manager describing how said artist was in tears after tracks from an upcoming album leaked online. I think that if the pirates knew that they made artists CRY, they would feel pretty bad about themselves. Yeah.
